The project finishes soon on the Czech side, but related research will continue under the umbrella of the new project Perceptually motivated restoration of highly degraded audio signals (2020–2022). The Austrian part of MERLIN will still continue for about a year.

The second project meeting was held at the Brno University of Technology, and we enjoyed two days of talks and discussion. We are happy that five experts from abroad came to present at this event.

Our paper Revisiting Synthesis Model in Sparse Audio Declipper has been accepted to the LVA/ICA 2018 conference (Surrey). We show that the synthesis version of the SPADE algorithm can be dramatically accelerated.
